RDU PASSPORT is a parking program for the convenience of people who frequently park in the parking garage between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. It’s also for anyone who is interested in electronic billing and ticketless garage parking.

The RDU PASSPORT is an electronically coded card that is about the size of a credit card. It is waved in front of an electronic sensor at the garage entry and exit lanes. RDU PASSPORT is easy to use and is secure.
What are the benefits of RDU PASSPORT?
Customers who sign up for RDU PASSPORT:

  • Have ticketless access in and out of the terminal area parking garage

  • Can enter and exit the terminal area garage without waiting

  • Will not need to keep up with a paper ticket

  • Do not pay via ExitExpress or the garage exit lanes each visit

  • Receive receipts electronically, saving time and making expense reporting easy
How do I enroll for RDU PASSPORT?
Enroll online here. A $10 nonrefundable fee for each proximity card ordered will be applied to your credit card. Your card will be mailed to your address within 10 business days of enrollment.
Can I use my RDU PASSPORT immediately?
Once you receive your RDU PASSPORT, you must activate it by calling (919) 840-7595 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday or by sending an email to rdupassport@rdu.com. Once activated you will receive a confirmation phone call or email. Then you can use your RDU PASSPORT.
Can I use my RDU PASSPORT in all parking areas?
RDU PASSPORT parking is only available in the terminal area garage. It is not available in the Park & Ride lots or at the General Aviation Terminal lots.
I have RDU PASSPORT, but the garage is full. What do I do?
With 11,000 spaces, the garage seldom fills to capacity. However, if it does, you will be directed to park in one of the Park and Ride lots where you must take a ticket to park and pay separately for that visit. Learn more about RDU's Park & Ride lots.
Do I receive a discount with my RDU PASSPORT?

RDU PASSPORT is designed for easy entry, exit and billing at the existing parking rates.

How do I enter and exit the terminal area garage?
Enter the garage by using any entry lane in the main plaza. Wave your RDU PASSPORT at the grey card reader pad and the gate will open. To exit, you must use the designated RDU PASSPORT lane located on the far right side of the parking exit plaza. Here, you will also wave your card at the grey pad.
What should I do if RDU PASSPORT does not allow me to enter or exit?
RDU Parking supervisors are on duty 24/7 to assist via a call button at the entry gate. You can also contact the RDU Parking Office for assistance. Keep in mind that your PASSPORT card will be deactivated if your credit card is no longer active. All past due charges must be paid in full prior to reactivation of your PASSPORT account.
What if my RDU PASSPORT is lost or stolen?
Immediately report lost cards to (919) 840-7595 or the RDU Parking Office. Your card will be blocked within two business days and a new card will be issued. There is a $10 replacement fee that is charged to the credit card associated with your account.

You are responsible for all fees on your RDU PASSPORT until you have reported it lost or stolen. If you travel before receiving a new card, you must take a ticket upon entry and pay before exiting the garage.

If you used your RDU PASSPORT to park and lost it while traveling, contact the RDU PASSPORT office at (919) 840-7595 or contact the RDU Parking Office. When you exit, use the customer assistance lane. Your parking fee will be charged at the lost ticket rate. You may request a refund for the difference between what your RDU PASSPORT charge would have been and the lost ticket that you paid in order to exit the parking garage.

Upon request, a new card will be mailed to you and a $10 activation fee will be charged to your account. If you find your RDU PASSPORT after reporting it lost, please call (919) 840-7595.
What if my RDU PASSPORT is damaged?
Report a damaged card by calling (919) 840-7595. If damage is caused by misuse, you will be issued a new card and your credit card will be charged a $10 replacement card fee. If you travel before receiving a new card, you must take a ticket upon entry and pay when you exit.
How do I update my account information?
Call the RDU PASSPORT office at (919) 840-7595 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Can I pay for my RDU PASSPORT charges using an ExitExpress pay station?
No. ExitExpress is only for paper tickets. If you took a ticket as you entered the garage, then pay for parking at an ExitExpress station. Your RDU PASSPORT will not work in the exit lane if you took a paper ticket.

If you used your RDU PASSPORT in front of the reader when you entered the garage, then you must use it in front of the reader at the time of exit.

You will not receive a ticket after you have used your RDU PASSPORT. You must choose one method or the other.
What credit cards are accepted for RDU PASSPORT payment?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club and Discover are accepted.
How do I receive my credit card receipt?
Your receipt will be emailed to the address on your account.
What if I haven’t received my RDU PASSPORT receipt?
If you have not received your receipt within 72 hours, please contact the RDU PASSPORT office at (919) 840-7595.
How do I update my member profile for my RDU PASSPORT account?
RDUPASSPORT.com allows you to easily update your address, phone number, email address and credit card information here. You will need your PASSPORT card number, which is the first five numbers on the back of your card. If you cannot find this number, please call 919-840-7595 or email rdupassport@rdu.com and you will be assisted. Please allow one business day for your information to be updated.
